Driving A Prevost Through The Mountains With The Aware Adaptive Cruise Control

Prevost Aware is an adaptive cruise control system that allows equipped models to maintain a set speed, slow down when a vehicle is in its path and resume speed when conditions warrant. If necessary, it can bring the bus to a stop and act as an aid in mitigating collisions.

While autonomous vehicles are a somewhat controversial topic, adaptive cruise control is a semi-autonomous feature that has been available for a number of years. I’ve owned four vehicles with this feature and, while various systems have different characteristics, when used in conjunction with an alert driver, it can be a wonderful safety feature and one that lends itself well to motorhomes.

In this video I’ll demonstrate the Prevost Aware adaptive cruise control system while driving through the hills of Tennessee while at the controls of a Prevost X3 chassis model.
