VIDEO: Yuneec Tornado H920 Hexacopter Overview
I have to say, that I stayed quite busy during my day at Yuneec HQ in Ontario, California and my host, Yuneec USA Product manager Raymon Robinson did a great job in providing quite a bit of information regarding various aspects of its copter and camera lineup. The focus of this conversational video is Yuneec’s new H920 hexacopter. I’ll tell you upfront, while I haven’t flown it at this point, this is quite an impressive machine. Based on what I saw, the build quality is impressive.
At first glance, for those of us who are accustomed to flying quad copters, the Tornado is a monster! Personally, I was surprised at the light weight of this hexacopter and I’ll attribute it to its carbon fiber frame. Hey, I’m not a big guy and I had no problem lifting it!
While the Tornado H920 is available in multiple configurations and is compatible with Panasonic’s Lumix GH4, Sony’s Alpha A7 and Yuneec’s proprietary CG04 camera, the CG04 is the one highlighted in this video and we discussed some of the operational differenced between the various cameras. It seems the inherent advantage of using the CG04 camera with the Tornado H920 is that it delivers full functionality to the copter’s ST-24 controller.
While I’m sure there’s many aspects and questions I didn’t cover, I hope this video serves as a general overview of this new copter. Comments Welcomed!
